I know this is multiple touches but yet in a way it’s the same one. When Dean gets nervous, scared or anxious he reaches for Sam. It’s done in a way that makes me think that he is completely unaware that he’s doing it and judging by Sam’s constant lack of reaction to it, it must be happening quite a lot. This is in a way very out of character for Dean. He’s supposed to view himself as the older brother, the protector of Sam but this gesture is not about protecting Sam, this is about seeking comfort for himself, reaching for Sam as if he’s a safety blanket. A part of me wonders if this isn’t Jensen leaking through and the mean side of me would love to scare him when Jared’s around just to see what he does

You are a meanie. LOL But they both do it much of the time, don’t they? Like in the chapel scene where they clutch at one another. When one or both of them is frightened or otherwise disturbed, they seek physical reassurance in the other. But I love that top left gif. Sam is already touching him, but Dean reaches out and grabs at Sam, and Sam reacts by grabbing Dean and lifting him. Of course there’s the famous scene in Playthings when Sam reaches out for Dean’s face.

Still, you may be right. Dean is usually the one who reaches out first it looks like, and Sam reacts to that.
